Wheels 4 Life hat die ersten 30 Fahrräder an einzelne Personen auf den Philippinen, in Südafrika, Ghana und Tansania übergeben. Hans war unterwegs auf einer seiner Abenteuertouren in den Philippinen und nutzte die Gelegenheit, persönlich einige der Räder zu übergeben (Da er eh schon vor Ort war sind für W4L keine Reisekosten angefallen).
3 Räder wurden an Kinder übergeben, die die Grundschule gerade abgeschlossen haben aber keine Möglichkeit hatten, die 9 Meilen entfernte, weiterführende Schule zu erreichen.
Hans: „Es war so eine Freude die Bikes zu übergeben und die strahlenden Gesichter und die Hoffnung in ihren Augen zu sehen.“
Hans bedankt sich bei allen, die ihn bisher bei dieser Sache unterstützt haben und hofft auf weitere Spenden.

I’m glad to announce that Wheels 4 Life has distributed 30 bikes to
persons in the Philippines, South Africa, Ghana and Tanzania.
I was on site in the Philippines to hand out the bikes personally
(since I happened to be there already for business – no travel expenses
for W4L).
After planning W4L for the past 12 month, founding it, launching it,
dealing with all the administrative stuff, etc….. ; it was such a joy
to actually give out bikes and to see the smiles on the faces and the
glow and hope in their eyes. It made it all real. Thanks so much to
everybody who has supported us so far to get to this milestone.
With the help of the Larrazabal family from Ormoc City (Philippines)
and the local council man of the Lake Danau Barangay (settlement), we
were able to identify 3 boys who graduated elementary school and had
no means to get to the high school that is 9 miles away.
I also presented 12 bikes to Bishop Cantillas from the Southern Leyte
Province, the area, where they recently had the devastating mudslide
that buried over 1000 villagers alive. The bikes will be given to some
of the orphans and other people in need in Southern Leyte.
IDTP (Institute for Development and Transportation Policy) and BEN
(Bicycle Empowerment Network) helped me distribute a total of 15 bikes
in Ghana, South Africa and Tanzania.
