I knew you will notice that Slx derailleur. :) It's there because it's cheap to replace in case of damage, isn't any worse than xtr performance-wise and matches the xtr crank perfectly. Shifter makes a much bigger performance difference than the rear derailleur - xtr on this build.

Yes, that's an integrated spacer on the carbon fork steerer (it protects the carbon crown). You can see the detail in the attached photo. The fork is a Rockshox Revelation XX World Cup Dual air 120-150mm with a RCT3 cartridge.
