Hey guys, this is Dmitry, founder and co-owner of Triton Bikes.
Nice article here!
Sorry I speak no word of German (I have to learn it because there are more and more German speaking customers nowadays).
I used Google Translator to read some of the comments. Somebody mentioned the tubes origin/and radiation (as a joke)
Please do not worry since _unfortunately_ ex-USSR countries do not manufacture Ti tubing that we feel comfortable to work with.
We have to buy tubes from two Asian suppliers and these guys also supply to our European and US colleagues.
We have finished building first batch of standard Road and 29 XC frames and they use Italian made Dedacciai chainstays. They are ovalized and tapered in Italy, however the raw tubes origin is Asia.
We can build a frame with fully Dedacciai or Reynolds (UK) butted tubing but that will significantly increase frame pricing. I think this is quite obvious.
As far as situation with Ukraine is concerned. We try to stay away from politics. We work with Garbaruk Ukraine (CNC machined chainrings).
Also, Michi's frame and all other frames are drawn by our engineer Konstantin who resides in Kiev, Ukraine. I have a few Ukrainian customers too. Although Tritons are slightly too expensive for Russians and Ukrainians.
I hope the whole conflict situation ends up one day.
We are so tired reading bad news about casualties/fights/sanctions. We just try to ignore the news and do the best we can by building frames and bikes.
IF something happens that limits us from shipping the frames to EU/US, I will immediately take steps to continue my DREAM WORK in the country that will allow me shipping worldwide. We have received a few requests/offers from potential investors from outside my country so we have the choice.
I mean, f*ck it. No politic can stop me from making bikes.
Feel free to ask me questions.
Thanks,
Dmitry
