MTB skills - where to start?

Hey,

sorry for writing in English - I hope I don't violate any rules of the forum by this. Unfortunately my German skills are below average.

I'm 37, living in Berlin and occasionally riding my hardtail in Gruenewald and places alike. I haven't learned any proper riding technique though.
So I wonder if there are any English/Russian speaking trainers/groups in Berlin where I could gain some skills like jumping, handling difficult slopes, etc.
Any advice on the topic?

Thank you!

1. Du kannst ruhig auf englisch schreiben. Ich hoffe, Du verstehst deutsch.

Derjenige bietet Fahrtechnik-Kurse an.

Riding in Grunewald may leave you with the impression every other rider is very focused and minding his own business. Actually I found quite many are open for some chat while having a break (yeah you will come across some with tunnel vision who never have a break) which sometimes leads to riding together for an hour or two. And riding with other people, though not certified skill coaches, may improve your riding a lot. See what lines they choose and ask them why or what to watch out for. I'd be surprised if language was that much of a barrier - in Berlin (at least basic) English really isn't too exotic.

Of course in some cases finding a certified coach may be the better approach (not every good rider is a good teacher). That indeed seems to be difficult in Berlin. Was looking into the topic some time ago myself - only found the one Renn.Schnecke (race.snail ;)) mentioned. Would be cool to hear some feedback if you decide to take that course.

Weil ich's grad gelesen hab:

Parkplatz Drachenberg/Teufelsberg
:daumen:
