We have plans try quickly launch a MTB specific tail light after this one. Something much smaller and that can tuck up and under a seat better. This tail light fully focused on the road/gravel market.
[...]
What the tail light will offer, is a road/gravel optimized beam pattern. Meaning insane wide width that surrounds the entire bike, while enough vertical beam to be in the eyes of drivers, but not blind the friend riding behind you. It won't have eye piercing peak brightness, because that is not what is safe for everyone around us, instead it is a very tall and narrow homogeneous red light that ends up looking larger than it actually is from a distance.
[...] By maintaining a consistent, large appearing light source from a distance, all the way to up where you are, means that closing speed can more accurately be judged. Along with that, when a vehicle begins to approach from the side, get hit with the strong intense sidemarker light that is in the PC Amber color.

Lastly, on the optics side, will have the downward firing light. Again, nothing new, Magicshine has had it for ages on their SeeMe50, and Project Flock is releasing a light that is immensely dedicated to that task. Its a very good feature that helps illuminate the back of your legs and your bike. From a distance it has the effect of making the visible image larger, more consistent, and easier to judge closing speed and width.

Using a
garmin quarter turn mount, again, user replaceable if needed or breaks in a crash or something.
