We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Production Controller (m/f/d) at our European headquarter in Mainz-Mombach, Germany. This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing team in a fast-paced and high-growth business. You will function as Team Lead of the Finance team focussing on our new production facility that is currently under construction.



Position Summary:

In this role you will be directing plant accounting practices, supervising all accounting functions related to the preparation of financial statements & statutory reporting (HGB), business planning, budgeting, cost control, analyzing and making recommendations to the Leadership Team regarding the profitability of the plant.

Overall Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

• Responsibility for cost controlling, management reporting, plant accounting, incl. opportunity & risk management
• You are responsible for the monthly and year-end closing processes for the plant, together with your accounting team
• prepare variance and profitability analysis
• Set up the plant reporting and actively participate in the design/implementation of the ERP system (SAP HANA) together with the project team
• Active participation in the planning processes
• Business partner for the plant managers (including plant management, maintenance management, production, etc.)

Competencies and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field required.
• Master/CPA/CMA/MBA/ACCA preferred
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; preferably in either cost or managerial accounting
• Advanced level of knowledge and understanding of financial and accounting principles to successfully fulfill the responsibilities outlined in the job description, according to HGB, Internal Controls, cost & general accounting
• Knowledge and experience with financial systems a must (preferably with SAP), as well having experience with the implementation of an ERP
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) in German & English required
• Strong business and financial acumen; in-depth understanding of the business
• Ability to analyze problems, exercise judgment, make sound objective decisions, and implement solutions at both a strategic and functional level
• Excellent interpersonal & leadership skills; ability to build rapport and effectively interact with others in the function, across functions, and with varying organizational levels and to work collaboratively within a team toward mutual objectives
