Apologies for no German ...
So, Saturday, we fancy doing something as it was a great day. Ms Rickmeister is a good skiier, so we decide to go to the Belchen. Plan was, she would buy a half day pass, I would cycle up the road on the fatbike, look at the view, have a bit of cake and then come down the road. We are there at 8:45am and everything is just starting.
The Chief at the bottom of the lift immediately comes over and bans me from going up the road straight away. I try and explain what I want to do, up the road, down the road, no pistes or with skiiers, but he isnt moving at all as well as finger poking me in the chest.
So if you want to walk up the road, ski up the road, skin up the piste, snow shoe up the piste, take a sledge up the road, rent ski bikes to go on the lift and down the piste with all the skiers and kids, thats all fine. Flat out, no bikes anywhere.
Asked him a little more. Its not about damage to the piste surface either, just I should go to Todtnau if I want to ride a bike and at the age of 52 I am likely to go so fast I wil be a danger to other people. Plus, if everyone else sees this bike, they will bring their bike along as well.
I'm struggling to see any logic at all from this at all. Disappointing and narrow minded.
Given the out of bounds area and no bikes on trails position, I'm staying away and not making things any worse.
