Sorry to write you in english, but I'm probably saving you an headache by not trying in german...(Replies in german are, of course, no problem!!)

Next summer-august-we-three Belgians(one female, two not so female)- will make oneday trips and some longer ones, in your country. We bought the Graubunden-package of the Singletrail Maps as wel as the Uri n° 9, which indicates our primary destinations.

The last time we toured in the Alps was the TMB, but that was ten years ago and.. in september. Since we like the wide-open-space-feeling, we got a bit worried about the number of bikers and walkers on the move, after reading on this forum.

Can you please make a "black list" of crowded trails and huts according to your own experience? (I'm sure the timing is essential too, so add whether a certain spot is disadvised each summer sunday or for the whole of august.)
Do you agree with the "viele Wanderer"-sign of Singletrail Maps?

Thanks for your information and suggestions!

These signs are very rare, but pay attention on every trail, they mostly arent only for bikers. I heard walkers saying "i thought this is an "adventure-path"" :D

As you know, in Switzerland are a lot of bikers and walkers, specially on sunny and hot weekends. I dont think that anyone can write you a blacklist, im sure there are trails that nobody knows in the forum and you maybe find it? ;)

Just keep your eyes open, your brakepads ready and your hands on the bar and you are safe. ;)
Happy Trails and enjoy your stay :)

That means Ammunation, you feel the "crowded trails and huts"-alarm is a bit overdone?
Well, that's nice to hear!

We have a fair amount of time (+/_ 3 weeks), so time enough to give way to hikers, brake in time and take into account some other good advise. ;)

Any other opinions?

Perhaps specifically on the val d'Uina- and Livigno-area?

you should also check map 24 including incredible nice trails like septimer, alta rezia, suvretta pass and many more. probably you have to share the trails with hikers in august but most of them are used to bikers.

Septimer was on the program, nice to hear you rank it very high. Have to do some checking out on the others you mention, thanks!

3 years ago I went snowboarding in this area; we took a guide for the Lagalp and for the Munt-Pers-Morteratsch off-piste. Incredibel!
Maybe the trip around Lagalp (anticlockwise) is a good warm-up for multiple day trips, and my first summer/winter experience on the very same spot.
It does show red and black, does it mean it can only be done by hardcore stuntman- I've been in the Alps before , I accept there's some carrying to be done-no problem.
OR, to put it differently:
Do you find the black/red/blue ranking is consistent and reliable?

septimer is especially because of its historical background brilliant.

it's hart to say something aout the ranking but after a firther look on the trails i made in the past i have to say that black trails are possible to ride. for example the bacl septimer-part in direction casaccia is possible up to 90% and i'm not a stuntman (more the opposite of). on the other hand alta rezia like it's on the single-trail-map (alp grüm direction cavaglia) is possible 100% (also the black part).

My experience is that the coulors of the trails in the Single Trail Maps are not reliable.
