hi to everyone sorry for my bad german but I guess you would understand me in english.

I was very glad with the new Hac5 that I bought 2 months ago untill I experiencied a trouble with it since I upgraded to version 2.04.
I've had previously installed version 1.08 and it was working fine.
Since I have upgraded to v2.04 without any problem the watch canno't communicate with the pc.
For instance in Hactronic the usb device is detected but when I connect the watch in pc mode the transfert doesn't start.
I can see a red led blinking on the usb connector.
What can I do with this issue?
Is there a way to reset the device like for the hac4?

Thank you very much for your replies.

The computers still works fine on the bike with the new version.

Thank you very much for your reply but as you will see my usb interface is
well connected.
It used to work fine before the upgrade.
Check at the picture down below and see :

then when I launch the connection between the Hac5 and Hactonic 1.83
I can see this but nothings change even though the hac5 is in pc mode

I am wondering whats wrong
- hactonic last version is 1.83 maybe it needs en upgrade?
- during the upgrade of the hac5 from 1.08 to 2.04 nothing were wrong
- i emaile ciclosport monday but I got no reply yet

Hello,
I have to choose also the Com-Port 8. I think the Com-Port you choose is wrong. In your Picture the status for the connection you have to select should be "free". You can try this: Start Hactronic-> update Firmware (don't select a Firmware, abort with cancel). In the next menu you can test the connection. If you don't have a connection, change the Com-Port under options and make the connection test again. You can also check (when you have Windows XP): (Sorry, now in German) Start-Systemsteuerung-System-Hardware-Gerätemanager-Anschlüsse (Com und LPT). So have to see the a Com-Port with the name "USB Serial Port (Com...)". I think this must be the Port that you have to choose in Hactronic.

Thank you Klaus
but i don't think I have a windows xp issue.
I have tried all com port available.
I have tested the hac 5 on 2 different pc and it is the same thing.
The usb device is installed as a usb serial converter as you can see on this picture

I hope that Ciclosport will answer me.

I upgraded it to 2.04 and the connection works fine. You don't have to look under usb connections. You must look under connections for com / lpt ports. I attached two pictures (so I hope it is clearer, what I mean). To test this you can only connect the usb cable without the HAC5.

Which drivers did you use?
as you can see on the images that I post previously my usb device is
installed as a usb serial converter
on your pictures the usb device is seeing by windows as a new usb serial port

ok let me be more precise :

the usb device is also recognized as a port com3
I tried the to configure hactronic with port com 3 but it doesn't work
it is a real mystery...

When you disconnect the HAC5 USB cable from your computer, does the COM3-Port disappear from the Ports (COM et LPT) list and when you connect it again it appears in the list? when yes, I think that com3 is the right port for your connection. For this test you don't need the HAC5, only necessary is the USB cable. When it is the COM Port 3 then disconnect the USB cable. Connect the USB Cable to the HAC5 and then to the Computer and test it again with Hactronic (select under connections in Hactronic the COM 3). You can also check the three connection holes in the HAC5, it they are clean and if the USB Cable have a good connection in the three holes from the HAC5. When it not works, I think somethink is defect with your HAC5. So I think it is not possible to update the HAC5 again? otherwise you can try to update the Hac5 with the german version 2.04 and look if know the connection works.

when I disconnect the usb cable both the "usb serial converter" and the "usb serial port com 3" disappear from the list.
In Hactronic I have tried all the port available without any result.

When I try the com 3 port, I only have a green light in the data transfert pannel

Dsr et Rx led are red, Rsld is green.
I havec checked the contacts but they are clean.
So I guess I have a problem either
- from the usb device
- or from the watch

When you plug the usb device alone and you start a transfert with hactronic
do you have a red led blinking just under the usb plug?

I am a bit upset because I didn't get a single reply from Ciclosport....

I think it is okay. When I only connect the usb cable, in Hactronikc is only the RLSD LED green the other both are red and the red LED on the USB cable is blinking (every 2 sec). I had a new HAC5 with same problem. I get no connection with the HAC5, but I could change it for a new one.

My watch is now back to Bike24 where I bought it.
I suggest anyone who would like to upgrade to do it if they have a good reason.

I am not very pleased with Ciclosport because they never answered any of the mails that I sent to them more than a week ago...

That's my experience, too. The email-support didn't answer. But the support at phone was much better and very friendly.
