Hello !

For starting, hope me writing english don't offend anyone, and kindly wash any ignorance for potential sub-forum mis-selection.

Attached a pic of me Votec TOX bought early last year, actually thinks a 2006 issue because the 2007s seem only slightly different.

Miffed by the failure : absolutely a great ride, but no visual warning seen during post-ride washings, and ridden the bike for only one season !

From the internet it seems that this frame has a rather sketchy heritage all the way back to the 1980s Cyclecraft Joker. I'm worried to warranty me frame just to start a wave of future problems.

Anyone have any Yey or Nay experience with the "new" V.XC ?

Cheers !

Re: Votec TOX vs. V.XC Hardtail
@whooshie: i'm awfully sorry to tell you, that this seems to be a very common feature to several models of votec bikes. if you use the forum search you'll find quite a few threads dealing with that topic.

Now I've been around the source, shops, and have now talked with an ex-vendor.

To be fair, the Heydenbike people are bikers, friendly, and forward thinking.

But as it turns out it was originally manufactured by Votec, so Heydenbike (who bought them) won't honour the warranty on my "outdated" bike.

After digging around, it seems like Votec did have some reliability issues and it may be their newly advertised swingarm (www.votec.com) was originally redesigned because of high failure rate. But since they don't have to honour the warranties of the "outdated" company the stock item is now marketed as an upgrade.

This type of customer service means that they've lost a customer

I think u should have a look on this Page, from an German High-Quality-Bike Engineer. He's one of the first founder of the original Votec brand and he also deals with old Votec bikes and may be u will even get some money for ur old bike and get offered a new frame. Check it out, Mr. Voitl is very accommodating.
