First ride report of Jeffsy CF Pro L. Have a Spectral 29 with
Pike/Dbinline that I compare with. Would describe myself as a quite strong rider with bad technique. Sorry for writing in english.
Unpacked and mounted the bike. Weighed 11,9 kg with my luggage scale, do not know how good the scale is. The tires was really huge with grippy rubber and since there is dry here now it seemed to beefy. Took a Racing Ralph that I had lying and putted in the rear. The tire was really difficult to put on the wheel, never had a wheel that was that difficult before. Let the Onza tire be as front tire. I have bought a 28T chainring that I should change to but did not have the time to change before the ride.
Putted 85 Psi in the fork and 175 Psi in the shock. 1,5 bar in the front tire and 1,8 bar in the rear. I weigh 83 kg. The bike came with the rear shock in the ”low” position which I thought not was right for me since I also like the bike to be good uphill. Decided not to change it and try it first.
The bike was fantastic in the trails. Felt like I sat in the bike instead of on top of the bike. It was very quick in acceleration and was extremly easy to ride, flew over obstacles. Downhill it felt very good and safe and it was really good upphill to. Was afraid that it would not be so good uphill but it was very good. At first i thought I had way to low pressure in the shock but after a while I am not sure anymore. The bike felt great and during transport it was very low pedalbob in trailposition on the shock.
Happy that I did not have time to change the chainring, 32T was perfect, no problem in the steepest hills. Can not really understand that since I have 2x10 on the Spectral with 22/36 as lowest gear, 32/42 felt about the same.
The Onza tire impressed me a lot. Was very good grip, as good or even better than
Hans Dampf Trailstar, yet the bike felt very quick and easy rolling. Is it so good or is it the bike?
The only negative was that the bottom bracket is really low in the ”low” position. Obstacles that I normally ride over would have crashed the chainring. Would really like to have a chainguard but do not know what fits the mount on the bike?
After the ride I had used about 100 mm of the fork and 48 mm (of max 57 mm?) of the shock so the rear pressure did not seem to low.
Have to say that this bike is AWESOME and definately exceeded my expactations!
