Hallo, ich lese eine lange Zeit mit ihm und denke, es ist Zeit, mich vorzustellen.
Ich komme aus Holland so mein Deutsch ist nicht so gut. (Google translate)
Ich sammle seit 2006 Jamis Fahrräder und unten kann man ein paar sehen, dass ich in den letzten Jahren gebaut.

I'll show some more picures of my builds.
This one is a Jamis Diablo '98, and this started my interest in Jamis.
I bought it in 2006 after a few years of not biking and fell in love with it.

I'm now building it up to original specs, got all the original parts.
I bought some new elastomers for the Manitou and then it is ready to roll again.

Thanks! Jamis bikes were sometimes called poor man Ritchey's because of the fillet brazing and details like the seatclamp ;-)
The quality is very good of these frames, strong paint and no rust inside.

Gosh - Jamis Bikes.
In the summer of 1991 I bought a brand new Jamis Dakar Sport (model 1991 in awful neon-peach color and Tange Prestige Tubing) with nearly complete Deore XT including Thumbies and Araya RM 14 wheels, Ritchey parts - was a nice light-weight bike for a fair price, but then, after some months riding in 1991 strange things started to happen to the filled-brazed parts of the frame - at the lower connection between lower tube and steerer tube a crack appeared. At my local Jamis-Dealer's bike shop the crack was examined and - surprise surprise - the frame was intact just the filler-faked (!) "filled-brazing" was coming off (I still remember all the white dust in the work shop...). Thus the term "poor-man's Ritchey" totally fits: The Jamis bikes of the early 90s were not filled brazed - they just look like filled brazed - when you remove the paint you'll find the body filler coating.
Nevertheless I got a new frame from the Jamis distributor - after some months riding, guess what happened...
I sold the bike to a friend in early 1995 - he rode it once and then put it away - so it has been preserved exactly in the state I sold it to him. But he doesn't want to sell it back to me...
in spite of the faked filled-brazing I would want to have it back as I did some racing on it.

ich habe auch noch ein Jamis cromo aus den 90'ern aber ich weiß den Namen des Modells (Rahmen) nicht mehr. Bilder stelle ich gleich mal hier rein, evtl. kennt es jemand. Es ist leider keine Aufschrift mehr drauf.
Cromo Stahl, Jamis (evtl. das Dragon '96. Tange Prestige tripple butted) und die Tange Switchblade Gabel. wiegt 10.7 Kg momentan und ich bin gestern gerade mal eine Runde gefahren, fährt sich noch top.

Ich würde mich allerdings nur vom Rahmen Trennen wenn ich etwas passendes anderes finden würde wo auch die Teile dran passen, Bremsen Gabel, Tretkurbeln/Lager usw. Wenn ein Jamis Fan dieses unbedingt !! haben wollte.

Dann präsentiere ich mal mein 1992er (vermutlich) Jamis Dakota in blau. Komplette Shimano DX Ausstattung. Ritchey Steuersatz, Vorbau und Lenker. Die nicht ganz zeitgemäßen Reifen und der Sattel sind Zwischenlösungen..

Finde ich auch. Habe irgendwo gelesen … a poor man’s Ritchey wegen den Sattelstreben und der Klemmung. Und vorne der Fillet Brazed Look, schön .
Nur Kataloge und Broschüren scheint es keine zu geben

Leider! Ich habe nur wenig Unterlagen und eher 94 95 rum.

In D sind scheinbar aber auch die Bikes nur recht kleinen Stückzahlen verkauft worden.
Vertrieb war in Köln bzw. dann Bergisch Gladbach, ich denke es gab kaum Händler.
War nicht gar Maxxximum am Schluss - so 1997-rum - auch noch Jamis Generalhändler?

Wie auch immer, schönes Bike, und gute Idee hier aus dem Thread die allgemeine Jamis Galerie zu machen!
