Advice needed on old Stumpjumper

Hallo fellow riders,

I apologize for not using Deutsche. It is still work-in-progress.

I want to buy a Christmas gift for meine Frau by getting her an old Stumpjumper which was her favourite mountain bike before it was stolen many years ago.

What I know is that is red in colour, and definately steel. Rigid of course.

I would appreciate if anyone knows of any old Stumpjumpers lying around not being used. Preference of course, in red. But I am perfectly happy otherwise. Most important is the condition. I would prefer a complete bike, but if not, frame and fork.

I do not know how the sizing will run. I suspect that the older sizing will mean it is bigger, but she is 1.72m. She currently rides a 16in Kona.

Any help appreciated.

Worse case, I was looking at Ebay and saw this Stumpjumper. Does anyone know which year and model it belongs to? The size seems to be perfect and the condition looks good.....

Sorry mate, can't help you with a Stumpjumper but the one on ebay is a Stumpjumper Comp from 1990 (or 1989?).

Specialized had a red Stumpjumper in 1994 (LX equipped) and a Stumpjumper Comp in 1996 (XT equipped). Both with white decals and of course rigid.
