American in Luebeck wanting to ride

I am from Texas doing business in Luebeck for one month. I brought my biking clothes wanting to ride in Northern Germany.

All I need is to rent or borrow a bike and a helmet.

Please help show me around.

Hi lonesome Cowboy,
Luebeck is not exactly the center of biking in northern germany. If you want to get contact to locals my advice is to go to a Bike shop in Luebeck and ask there. Many bike shops in Germany have biking groups that meet once or twice per week.
if you are interested in serious mountain biking you have to drive min. 2 hours to the south to the first mountain ranges Deister or Harz. For Harz look here www.harzaktiv.net
For Deister you are always wellcome to join our rides on weekends. I could even borow you a bike and a helmet.

I have asked the shops in Luebeck, but nobody rides mtb. They were willing to sell me a Scott Scale , but I already have enough bikes.
