Hi there,

Initially, it was not designed for 27.5".
Depending on the tire, it can work, but using the full rear travel, it might hit the Seattube.
Probably the mk4 will have adjustable chainstays like 301 from mk12 on...

RaceFace67,
Thanks for your reply. I´ve also been thinking about the 601 Mk3 ("M" Size) with rear 650B wheel, using full travel, it might hit the Seattube. I´ve read about swampping the 241 mm. Stroke Schock for one with 221 mm. Stroke so you reduce the travel into 165.

- I would like to know if someone tryed with the 190 mm rear travel and 27.5/650b rear wheel (2.2 or 2.3 with tire). Waiting to know your about your expirience...

RaceFace67,

@felipetrdh Some time ago I had a chance to talk to a Liteville developer before I bought my 601 MK3 size 'M'. He told me, as long as I could live with the fact that not all tires do fit, and that the rear tire may hit the seat tube, everything is fine. The hitting tire would not damage the seat tube. This is of course not the official position of Liteville and not every rider is able to deal with a suddenly blocking rear wheel in any situation.

However, I am fine with these limitations. At the end of the day the only situation when I would use a larger rear wheel is for a long distance tour. That's a completely different kind of riding and I probably would never make use of the full travel in this use case.

Also, have you ever tried to make use of the full travel with the factory setup? I couldn't use the full travel since the day I own the bike without feeling that something is missing. I like the increasing progression at the end of the travel.

For my technical home trails I prefer to have the 26" rear wheel (about 20-30 km riding distance). And bikepark is even more fun with a smaller rear wheel :)
