FOX Float RP23 vs. X-Fusion O2 PVA

FOX Float RP23 vs. X-Fusion O2 PVA

Ich habe vor kurzem ein GHOST AMR 5700 PLUS in Deutschland erworben und es mit nach Canada gebracht. Ich hatte vom Händler einen sehr guten deal bekommen und konnte da nicht widerstehen. Des Weiteren ist es das erste All Mountain aus Deutschland für mich und ich habe in vielen Magazinen gelesen das Ghost sehr gute Fahrräder herstellt. Anyway, das oben genannte Bike kommt mit einem X-Fusion O2 PVA. Ich wollte wissen ob einer weiss ob ich ein Fox Float RP23 in den anstelle des X-Fusion ins Rad einbauen kann (so wie beim AMR 7500 Plus) oder ob ihr mir Raten würdet beim X-Fusion zu bleiben. Ich habe noch ein 07 Rocky Element mit Fox RP23 Shock hier stehen das leider bei einem Autounfall (jemand ist mir hinten ins Rad reingefahren) etwas zerstöhrt worden ist. Zwar bekommt man den Schaden erstattet, aber ich wollte mal was anderes ausser Rocky fahren. Anyway, bitte sagt mir ob das geht, den einen Händler in Canada gibt es im Bezug auf Fragen zum Bike noch nicht. Ich danke im vorraus.

Der RP23 und der X-Fusion sind von der Performance ziemlich gleich, von daher ist es eher eine Glaubensfrage. Meiner Meinung nach ist es relativ egal, welchen du fährst.

Ich finde das da ein sehr großer Qualitätsunterschied zwischen den beiden Produkten vorhanden ist. Des weiteren ist die Handhabung auch etwas anders. Nichts desto trotz würde ich auch gerne wissen, ob man überhauot die Float RP23 in den Rahmen einbauen kann oder nicht. Cheers Sigint.

Warum nicht wenn die Einbaulänge passt kannst den RP23 sicher einbauen.

the rp23 is available with diffrent setups, so it is not easy to give a clear answer. why you don't ask ghost? or just give it a try (like norman68 said)?

I've dismounted the fox from the '07 element frame and it would fit, but I would loose 40mm of travel cause the fox float I have only has 100mm rear travel. But the bike was designed with 140mm travel. But you are right. I will contact ghost bikes directly with regards to exchanging the rear shock. I'll let you guys know. Cheers

is the stroke of piston diffrent? which version of x-fusion do you have? 200/57 (length/stroke)
if the lenght is the same and the stroke is less you will just lose travel
but if the lenght is diffrent you'll change the whole geometry of the bike!

The whole length is different. It would really change the geometry to the bike. I've also read the warranty information on ghost bikes and it said that if I would alter the bike, the cannot make sure that the bike was designed for that. So what I do is I've already contacted ghost with regards to the exchange of the rear shock for that frame and which shock they would recommend. I'll post their answer here soon.

If the shock has the wrong length its not going to fit. You might be best off trying to trade the shock for one with the correct length, or selling it and buying a correct length shock. I understand your Rocky mountain has been destroyed in the crash so you probably don't need the Fox shock anyway? Things you will have to look at are shock length and stroke. If these two are correct it should fit, maybe you will need new bushings, I don't know if the X-Fusion has the same diameter and width bushings as the Fox. But bushings only cost about 15$ anyway.

So for all the others out there who have a AMR 5700 Plus and want to upgrade to a Fox Float - This is the approved setting as for Ghost Inc.

basically you can use any other shock as long as the length from eye to eye is the same. if you have a 40mm travel shock in your rocky the length should be around 160mm while the ghost uses a 190mm shock. if you´ve had 190mm rp23 is would also fit in the ghost. but you need additionally new bushings, the x-fusion do normally not fit in the fox.
the performance of the x-fusion is not to bad but the rp23 is the best cross country and all mountain shock in the market, offering many setup possibilities and the PPD in generall is better than just a lockout. it is up to you whether you think the upgrade is necessary or not. but if you´d like to upgrade it is no problem as long as the length is correct. but watch out: there´s the standard 7.5" x 2.5" rp23 and a 7.5" x 3" and you need the first one
