By the way (I do not understand german....) it is allowed to go ther by bike? are there any restrictions?

as long as you abide with the bylaws there are no restrictions for the isar trails (the trails that run both sides of the river Isar).

some of the best gps tracks you can either get from www.gpsies.com or www.everytrail.com, alternatively ask in the forum
roll on summer - if you are going to cycle on along the isar - don't forget your mudguards

I'm really sorry to tell you that there are no mountainbike trails in Freising that are truely worth mentioning. Only boring roads that are usually called forrest "Autobahn" for a reason. Trail bits in between are only seconds long and more or less flat. Same along the Isar. Also not good for bikers: Some of the trails ("Trimmpfad") near the Plantage are for pedestrians only and marked accordingly.

What kind of riding do you do? If it is XC you can at least ride west through some forrests towads the Amper-valley and collect some small climbs. If it is gravity related you have to wait until some bike parks open or the Alps or the bavarian forrest defrost

Thank you both guys. It is a pity, I found a video somewhere here in the forum, from the plantage trails, that were not bad at all...probably you are talking about that, Milky, when you mentioned the pedestrian only trails?

My kind of riding is probably in the middle between XC and some more "gravity" stuff. the more I get older the more I like descending :-D expecially on slow, more "technical" trails. Very high speed scares me a little bit to be honest. But I am in Germany only temporarily, so I decided to bring with me the crosscountry bike, leaving at home the one more "freeride" oriented.

so thank you anyway...and I will keep following you in these bavarian threads.

thanks for the offer - will take you up on it - just not this weekend.
looks like saturday might be dry, but most of the decent trails are just to muddy. i was thinking of doing a quick tour on the racer...

Bin grad von meiner Hausrunde zurück, bei dem Wetter musste ich heute unbedingt raus. Und was soll ich sagen, es lässt sich alles fahren auch wenn man manchmal das Gefühl hat durch Watte zu cruisen. Radl putzen ist natürlich angesagt, aber morgen gehts auf jeden Fall in die Gegenrichtung. Ma gucken was die Kondition schon hergibt. Grüße, Silvio

Hallo,

möchte SA + SO (17+18.03.12) jeweils eine Runde drehen in der Gegend Wippenhausen – Haag und dort viel runter zur Amper und die Hügel wieder rauf. Kein Free Ride mehr was für die Kondition. Ist meine 1. Tour in diesem Jahr und wird sicher nicht so schnell.
Werde jeweils so um die Mittagszeit dort sein (12-14Uhr).

Starte in Eching, fahre meist über Pulling nach Wippenhausen. Dort bin ich nach ca. 1Std. War gestern unterwegs rund 77Km + werde heute gegen 10 wieder los.

I am here again in allershausen after Easter time. I´m going to get a new bike, a gt force, in the next few days, and I would really like to give her a try, a decent one, not only autobahn :-D

by the way, I would like to know what would you recommend for some nice single trail descents, I like more technical vs fast ones. I read about Blindsee trails, are they already free from snow? are you guys planning to go anywhere in the next weekends?

I am also here for a tour around freising-amper valley, too.

PS: a last question: which is the closest freeride spot/bike park around munich?

Ja wenn die Arbeit nicht immer wäre! Aber noch 2 Tage dann ist Urlaub angesagt, endlich!

Mal was anderes in die Runde, würde gerne einmal einen Hometrail bei uns irgendwo im FS Landkreis bauen, also was zumindest halbwegs Legales womit der Besitzer auch einverstanden ist. Habe sogar noch etwas Material in meiner Garage, Werkzeug sowieso, hat jemand eine solche Möglichkeit bzw. Bekannten???? Auch gern per PM wenn es hier zu promiment wird.
Es soll eben nichts Illegales werden da mir sonst die Zeit und die Arbeit zu schade ist wenn nach kurzer Zei wieder alles weg muss.

Ich fahre gern technisches, Singletrails und bin auch dem Bikepark nicht abgeneigt. Weiss jdn was über den Northshorwe im Wieswald?
Wer hat mal Bock auf ne kleine Tour?
