Hello guys!
Want to ask you for a question: what to choose...
Now I have Juicy 5, where there is a problem: noise, scratching when I ride. So, I wonder what to choose now. Loise or Formula K24. So, I think Loise, because a nice design and a Ventidisc. It is better. But a few days ago I have found that there is no spring between pads on Loise brakes! So, I wonder to know what to do now: buy magura with no spring but with a nice disc with no problems, or buy a formula brake with a low-end (in my opinion) design and with a disc without a spider? So, what could you recommend me to do? Is it really bad that there is no spring?
And, by the way, if buy loise, what is better - carbon or a standart version of a 'hebel'? I know that there is an option in a carbon version on a 'hebel' like on Juicy 7 - pad contact?

Thank you!
Really need help...
My best wishes,
Alex

IMO Oro K24 rocks - great power, no problems with fading. Just noisy when wet.
The Design.. well its functional, not that pretty. form follows function ;)

The Louise's missing spring isn't that bad I think, the pistons return with Oil pressure. the Spring on most brakes just keeps the Pads locked against the pistons. Other Brakes have magnets in the Piston do do the same thing.

btw, have you tried smoothing the edges of the Juicy pads? it helped mine with their squeling...

Thank you guys!
@KainerM:
Thanks! I hope it will work fine if I choose magura without a spring :)
I have tried with Juicy 5 everything... The best way is to sell them :)
@krokerleguane:
danke schoen!
@Kayn:
thank you!

And what is better, carbon or aluminium? Weight ist egal :)

Hi, I just bought a Magura Louise (180/160mm) last week and yes... I had a Juicy 5 (203/180mm) before, too! I had the same Problems, you had and the Solution was, to replace the pads by some new ones of an other manufacturer. I think, I used Koolstopor something similar... But finally, I had enough of that brake and yesterday, I had my first "date" with Louise. It's quite too early, to judge, with one is better, but my first impression was, that the Louise has at least the same power, even with the smaller discs.

The Carbon lever is noch "better" then alloy, it's even more expentive and it looks nicer. If the weight and the look don't matter, you should consider to buy one with alloy levers, this is even less expensive, if you will destroy it somehow.

Thank you Fabchan. The only problem now is to choose, what to buy: loise or marta sl ;)
I hope there won't be any more problems and scrathes with new discs.

No problem. Which sizes do your Juicy 5 discs have?

Marta SL is a lightweigt brake for cross country racing, while the louise is an allround brake, which can be used for allmost everythink (all mountain, enduro, etc.).

That's probably a good idea. :-) Maybe a 160mm at the rear wheel would be enough for your needs, but I dont't know, what your weight is and what kind of routes you ride.
