Ich hab hier noch eine mail mit Antwort von CD, die in dieses Thema passt. Vielleicht erst im unteren Teil das Anschreiben lesen ;-)

my apologies for the delay in our response to your question..
now lets see if we can clear up some of the confusion you have regarding USA and European pricing...
the prices vary for some or all of the following reasons:
1) the bike specifications sometimes vary between US and European models (European models are at times spec'd higher making them more expensive)
2) European prices include tax ( 16% in Germany !).. US prices never include tax.
3) European import duties (goods imported to Europe are subject to various taxes, duties, and other special charges by customs departments)
4) the inter company margin charged by Cannondale USA to Cannondale Europe
these are some of the reasons for the difference in price... if you take a look at other products you'll find bicycles are no different..
cars.. there are big differences in prices between cars in Europe and the USA
jeans, a pair of Levi's in Europe is generally more expensive that in the USA.. all for the same reasons as I listed above..
I hope this clears things up a bit for you...
Sincerely,
Customer Service
Cannondale Europe

dear sir or madam!
today i´m really confused about cannondale bikes. i was going to look out for a second of your race machines (which are - NO question - the best i´ve ever had!!!).
BUT, and here it comes, what is wrong with your price differences germany compared to the states???
for yourselves: the cannondale gemini 1000 (2003) is running at 4299,- (with tax) here in germany. NOW the SAME bike in the states is running at ONLY 2699,99 USD (which will be around 2500,- Euros). Dont believe it? take a look:
http://outspokenbikes.com/site/show...y=53&startpage=1&thecurrentpage=4&startrow=31
right at the middle of the page.
now, since i´ve been a nice customer, and already spend a whole lot of money for an gemini (4200,- euros) i´d like you to post a comment about that. please dont just write: life is hard - either you have it or you dont ;-)
take this as a serious note and question to your company politics.
best regards
