️: CA Tech placed number 2 in the race to rebuild Mavic.
“We’re proud to have been part of the process until the last day of the race. While CA Tech is a young company, we have great ambitions for the future. Through this process, we have shown that we are strong enough to challenge the big players in the industry,” CEO of CA Tech, Christian Antal says.
“With that said, we wish to congratulate Mavic with its new owner. Mavic is a strong brand with great products and people. We’re excited to see what the future will bring for this iconic company. Even though we lost the bid, but finished number 2, according to our lawyers, we always stand by Mavic’s side”, Antal says.
Great relationship
The ties between Mavic and Kindernay go back many years. Mavic early saw the potential of Kindernay’s unique shifting technology, and how our patented internal gear mechanisms could revolutionize shifting on bicycles. “We have a great relationship with the people at Mavic. The partnership has given us valuable input on our product, and introductions to subcontractors that work with us today to produce our gear systems. Mavic also built the first prototype wheels based on our proprietary SWAP wheel-system”, Mr. Antal says.
Raising money to grow
“In the process of bidding for Mavic, our team raised over 5 MEURO in just a few weeks to realize our ambitions, save the brand and, secure jobs in France. It is likely that even without getting the chance to revitalize Mavic, we will raise financing in the second half of this year to achieve our ambitions and execute our strategies for growth organically and through acquisitions”, Mr. Antal says.
CA Tech will continue on our strategy of building a global bike supplier with a base in Europe and Norway. 2021 will be an exciting year for Kindernay, with several groundbreaking new products to be launched ?
