Zwischenbergenpass ins Saastal

Mahlzeit allerseits,

zufällig jemand Erfahrungen/-wanderungen mit dem Zwischenbergenpass zwischen Zwischenbergental und Saastal in Ost-West Richtung? Lt. Karte Wanderweg, sieht aber so aus, als sei man ggf. ein paar Meter auf Gletscher unterwegs!?

Hallo,
zufällig bin ich auf deine Anfrage gestossen. Ich war zwar selber noch nicht dort, aber hast du schon mal auf die Seite gps-track.com und dann unter Karten, Mountainbike
geschaut. Dort findest du vielleicht weitergehende Infos.
Der direkte Weg scheint laut der dort hinterlegten Google-earth karte und der dazugehörigen Schweizer Generalkarte auch nicht gerade fürs Bike geeignet zu sein.
Zu Fuss wohl schon, aber eben auch mit Gletscher, zumindest aber Schneefelder-Begehung.
Also schau mal rein. vielleicht hilfts dir weiter.

The Zwischbergenpass is absolutely impassable with a mtb !!!

I know the area and can tell you that in the Zwischbergental you can ride up to Gmeinalp (alt. 1851m). Then you push a little and carry a lot: +1400m on 4500m. The last part is on a glacier, it's a high mountains area absolutely not for mtb... And the west side above and below the Almagellerhütte is just not as difficult!

IMHO you should forget the Zwischbergenpass and choice a more suitable one between the Simplon area and the Saastal.

Hi farenji,

thanks for the informations. That it's impossible to ride from Gmeinalp to the pass was sure with first the map. Carrying the bike at all isn't distrurbing at all but the part on the glacier makes me choose an alternative.
