Just those extra close-up shots of the watch +clothing... I can't help myself, but I found them a bit annoying because I wanted to see beautiful biking in beautiful landscape and not a watch. Perhaps a bit more "hidden" advertisements would do the job better, just from my point of view ;)

As for the uphill... I didn't recognize you went up the same way as down and asked myself the same question as walter021 did: why so complicated if you can have it easier and less dangerous?
 
Man kann sich auch über alles aufregen. Ohne Werbung kein Video, so ist das nunmal. Die Ausgaben für solch ein Projekt, sind sicherlich nicht zu vernachlässigen.
 
The point of the watch was I tried to show the start time and altitude together with our highest point, which, for viewers paying attention, may be of interest;). Your feedback, however, is interesting and I'll think about it for future projects.

Is the FiveTen a good climbing shoe as well? Which exact modell do u have? I didnt buy them yet, because I always think they must be crappy and slippery without a bike beneath my ass..

I used a hacked Panasonic GH2 for filming this - it's the best light weight all in one package giving the best quality, which is important if you have to carry the gear up the mountain and want to ride down.

You need to ask Johannes about the 5.10 shoe since I'm not using them. I prefer either the Vaude "Dibona" or the La Sportiva "Ganda", both of which are far better quality and more suited to mountain approaches. Actually, I find the Dibona a little more comfortable.

Anyway, lads, I'm surprised you're not asking about the wheels!!:D

What is the actual term in english for the switchback technique?
I always just call it "resetting the rear wheel", but that's just translated from german and I'm not sure if this is correct.

Wie Colin schon sagte hatte nur ich fiveten Schuhe bei dieser Tour an. Das Modell heißt Sam Hill
Die Sohle besteht aus dem gleichen Material wie die Kletterschuhe von FiveTen, also ja, zumindest vom Grip her ist es auch ein guter Kletterschuh. Es ist aber auch nicht zu verleugnen, dass er halt ganz anders geschnitten und viel klobiger ist als ein richtiger Kletterschuh. Ein so direktes Gefühl im Fuß am Fels wirst du damit also nicht haben.
Mir taugen die Sam Hill sehr, weil sie doch um eine Ecke steifer sind als die skateboardschuhähnlichen Freeride Modelle von FiveTen.

Zu den Laufrädern: Es ist der Satz mit 40mm Außenbreite der Felge, also W40MX

Ich bin definitiv auf den Geschmack breiter Felgen gekommen. Durch die große Breite der Felge habe ich beispielsweise eine 2,35er Muddy Mary genommen, statt der 2,50er. Im Vergleich Syntace W40+2,35er MM vs. ZTR Flow+2,50er MM komm ich ungefähr auf die gleiche Reifenbreite, habe allerdings bei der Syntace deutlich! mehr Reifenvolumen und geringeres Systemgewicht.
Im stark technischen lasse ich speziell im Vorderrad gern Luft ab und fahre dann so mit 1,1 bar. Oft werden die Trails einfacher und flotter zu fahren je mehr sie sich dem Tal nähern. Bei schneller Fahrweise fühlt sich die Kombination ZTR+2,5er MM+1,1bar sehr schwammig an und der Reifen knickt in Kurven leicht weg. Mit der breiten Felge hatte ich das Gefühl nicht.

Aja, die Naben sind auch schön fein verzahnt :-)

mMn nicht gleicher Grip, die Syntace + 2,35er Variante hat da die Nase vorn. Durch die breite Abstützung des Reifens ist die Breite zwar gleich, das Volumen und die Auflagefläche des Reifens sind aber größer -> mehr Grip :-)

Das Erste Hilfe Täschchen widme ich Björn_U, ermag es ja so. :D
Es ist extra farblich auf die Wandermarkierung des Odenwald-Vogesen-Fernwanderwegs abgestimmt.

Zum Glück kam es nicht zum Einsatz, alle 4 Mitstreiter haben unverletzt überlebt. Dafür hatten wir leider 2 schwere Ausfälle im Vorfeld. :(

Okay, dann muss ich das vielleicht doch mal noch testen. Der Grip auf den Pedalen wird ja vermutlich nicht schlechter sein, als bei den Freeride Modellen. Danke :)
