My thermarest matras was not in there, my tent was, protected against sharp objects by a piece of kevlar clothing, rolled around it. And the rear derailleur didn't even touch the sand, only the wheels, handlebar and pedal did. So what's your point. What you can learn from this video? I would say: not to judge to fast...

Thanks! This was only the first video of a series. Due to the bad weather conditions on Gran Canaria (gail force winds and lots of rain) I wasn't able to ride the trails I wanted to ride. That would have been far too dangerous. But don't worry, in the videos to come, you will see me doing some spectaculair trails, altough there are undoubtably people who can ride them better. But I,m travelling alone, so I try not to take too many risks.

Yes, a DIY camera boom, about 120cm long. On my facebook are some foto's of the first prototype: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=256023367900987&set=rpd.100004799773203&type=3&theater. Nowadays it looks a lot slicker, but the construction remained the same.
