As a short disclaimer, I have only ridden my ride buddys Boxxer Base. However, chassis and airspring are identical with the ultimate Boxxer and the damper only differs in its compression assembly.
From the bunch, the DH38 is the best fork hands down. Best airspring, best damper, comparable chassis to the current Boxxer, which is already quite nice.
The current Fox 40 with Grip X2 is even more stiff, especially torsionally, and thus a little heavier, too. Airspring is fine, and the new dampers are said to be quite the uplift from the previous offerings. Lots of sensible changes, like a regular shimed compression assembly which plays with clamp diameter to adjust stack stiffness for HSC and a smaller diameter rebound piston to keep midvalve damping under control.
Charger 3 in my mind is a mid tier to bad damper. It runs a heavily dished base valve and thus preloads the shimstack significantly, making the damper harsh and sloppy on rough terrain. Additionally, the HSC adjustment is useless. However, changing out the compression unit with a kit as offered by WPS or Fluid focus solves the biggest issues with the damper.
I would consider running any of these forks, the Boxxer only with modified damper, though. Depending on the deals, I would go for best bargain. Going with
Rockshox and Fox has its upsides with running costs, here Öhlins is a little more pricey.
