German A kilo 1.2 gabel gebrochen

Sorry to write in English.. my german writing is not good enough.

In february my 3 year old GA kilo 1.2 fork broke in a hard descent. I broke my collarbone. The fork was serviced every year. GA doesn't come with a solution and doesn't recall the fork. If you still use this fork on a mtb be warned. The fork is NOT SAFE!!!

I meant a fast descent, I only ride fairly smooth trails.

Looks like the cracks grew over time. Didn't it make any warning noises?
Until now, i could hear every (frame) crack long before the tube was separated completely.

Yes I'm fine again. No real warning signs except for a sound like a brakepad rubbing against the rim just before it happened.

I hope you've been fully recovered from your broken collarbone and thanks for the warning. I Have to confess, I've never heard about this fork brand. Isn't it some cheap chinese fork without good quality? But I'm not a pro in forks either.

Ja haha, wie kann ich nur... Sorry, aber ne Gabel die einfach mal so wie vom TE geschildert bricht, dann ist das doch rein natürlich, dass ich der Marke nicht allzu viel vertrauen schenke. Sowas ist Lebensgefährlich! Und wenn dann der Hersteller nicht mal reagiert, dann spricht das auch nicht gerade für einen professionellen Service.

Voraussetzung ist natürlich, dass der TE uns die Wahrheit erzählt und kein signifikantes Detail unterschlägt.
