hi, at christmas I am taking my bike to aqaba. wadi rum desert is near. has anybody gone biking over there?

I was there but with a motorbike. The sand in the wadi rum is very deep and soft not easy with a bicycle. Try the wadi disi just beside the wadi rum. There are dry lakes with solid floor like in the pic:
