Hi, :)
I'm a swede who is thinking of buying a new bike for the summer and I'm very interested in the lots of nice bike you have here in Germany.
I have expacially been checking out the Canyon Torque and Canyon Nerve ESX8, and I wonder which one you think would be best suited for my riding. And how do I ride? well I ride alot of All-Mountain some XC and freeriding. I think the Torque looks better than the Nerve but the Nerve seems to have better components and cheaper than the Torque, am I wrong?

I have also checked out the Red Bull-bikes at Roseversand and I think the Redd Bull AM-300 or 600 would fit me very good just like the Canyonbikes. The Red Bulls also seem to give better components compared to the price, but I'm not sure about it. What do you think?

One more thing, how long do you think it will take to get the bike if I order it in march?
BTW, i'm not too good in german so english would be preferred ;)

Many thanks :)
Martin

your description of what you plan to do with your bike is not very specific. so i can´t help you to choose between esx and torque.
But i can tell you: FORGET RED-BULL Bikes.

If you order now you can calculate with delivery round about end of May up to mid of june. But for exact details you have to call canyons hotline or by mail.

I would recommend you the ESx rather than the torque.
Red Bull bikes are good value too, but quite ugly...

And now to the dates, well you have to call Canyon directly, but It probably will take some time

About taste cannot be argued.......but you are in right

plumser: forget Red-Bull - please !

When you see the both bikes himself ( I mean Red Bull vs. Canyon ) you will be able to see many differences and your decision will be clear: CANYON !

Let us know a little bit more about your ride preferences.

P.S. see the pics by the follow link and on the sides before and create your own opinion

Oh, ok thanks guys, really helped me alot ;) that narrows me down to the torque and the es/esx... I think I'm just gonna have to go with looks on this one cause I can't really define my riding, it's a mixture of many styles :)

But i'm a little concerned about the delivery, will it actually take several months to get it? Is it because the they have so many orders on the bikes or some other reason?

yes that has to do with the huge number of people ordering canyon bikes. this problem is old. but the fascination of canyon bikes seems to grow faster then canyon is able to solve this problem.

Hi plumser,
First rule: never use names of bike manufacturer exept "Canyon" in this part of IBC ;) Most "specialists" here have big problems with bikes not build by "canyon" ;)
Whatever someone says above , i have a canyon and a red bull here and both of them are beautyfull and good bikes with very good components (watch the pictures on the left and build your own opinion.
The choice, what bike for your kind of riding is difficultly. In case of your discription i think an enduro would be the best choice. U can pull down the fork for uphill/XC and u have enough pitch of spring (German "Federweg, oops :) ) for the freeride stuff u want to do.
I made very good experience with service at "Rose Versand" and not so good with "Canyon".

Gruss,
Stephan

Välkommen!

Well, the major question is:
Is it more important to you to have a bike, that goes up easily,
or do you prefer the one, that makes more fun downhill?

Perhaps, you've got any friends with bikes that bear similarities with ESX or Torque and you can borrow them for a test-ride?

Hej Plumser,
in which part of Sweden do you live?

by the way:this guy "gabelfox" had some bad experience with Canyon last year:
he didn´t want to wait longer for his ordered ES6 and at last cancelled it!
What a pitty!:aetsch:

But all the others, who finally got their bikes are really happy now;)

Red Bull....please don´t make a fault!

Oh, I see gabelfox. Well the Red Bull-bike I had in mind was the AM-300 or 600 but I can't find any pictures of it other than at Rose. I would more than likely compare it with the canyonbikes, mostly for looks ;).

Thanks you other guys too, I live in the south of sweden but we do have quite good hills, we even have a downhilltrack where I live, though I've never tried it because i'm a little scared my crappy hardtail will fall apart :).
Anyway if i'm getting a FS i would probably try it out and probably ride more freeride and downhill than I do now.

(please tell if i'm talking too much about red bull, i just don't know where else to ask)

Hi.Greetings from Italy to Sweden. You are right, the price/value of Red Bull bikes is excellent as well. But the details(especially the frame) are not as High End like Canyon bikes. Canyon employs a number of good and well known engineers who not only copy existing frames and techniques, but also invent new ones. Many people here in the forum(me included) are already waiting for their 2nd Canyon which of course is a good sign..)
About the specific bikes: Already with the ES-X you can do almost everything.Compared to your hardtail it´ll be a dream flying down your hometrails... But it also will climb decently. The torque is a bit more hardcore which means even better downhill qualities but you´ll pay for it during the uphill.
From what you have described,it sounds more like your choice should be between an ES or ES-X rather than a torque..
Ciao Jay

Thx, Jay yes I admit I like the canyon better than the red bull, it's just I don't know if I have the patience to wait 2 months for a bike. But I'll guess I have to live with it if I want the best. :)

Plumser, I send this mensage from Portugal. I wait 2 months for my Canyon but it´s for good product. I´m very hapy whith my XC7, just after first ride :daumen:
If you want fun, laft, smile, cry of joy then, wait 2 monts
You can see pics of our first ride:

Heija plumser. The different models have different waiting times.Once you have decided which one you´d like to have, you shoud give Canyon a call and ask for the aprox. waiting time.(There are some bestsellers that take longer than others...)Then you still can decide if you want to go for it or not. Unfortunatly the longer you hesitate, the longer the waiting time gets....
Tough decisions I know.Especially without having seen the bike before. But trust us:They are fantastic! And considering the fact that you´ll keep the bike for many years,2 months don´t seem to be that long anymore :-)

Ok, thanks guys really appreciate it. I think I'll settle for an ES7 or an ESX7.. Just going to email canyon now.
Nice ride you got there pjfa btw ;)
Thanks for the help everyone!
