mk10
so, I had heard a slight cracking sound and also felt some play, so I loosened the two 8mm Allen keys (screwed into the frame, not against each other). When I realized that both bearings were running pretty rough, I wrote with LV - and got new bearings the next day (a pair of just under 19 euros including postage, ok, I think).
Since it could be interesting for some who are still facing this, I wanted to briefly describe my approach here:
this is what the good stock looks like:
The crankset has to come out to get to the screws. I also loosened the cable attachments on the down tube to be able to move the swing arm away from the bottom bracket.
Then we got a suitable nut from the ratchet box to the bearing from the inside, knocked it out through the eyelet on the other side with an extension, slowly and evenly, worked without any problems. Same game on the other side.
Finely cleaned, bearing seat and bearing very lightly greased and then started with a large screw clamp. First with the screw clamp inside against the frame (tabs in between) to have more feeling.
When it was just sitting, we held a nut against it from the inside (watch out for the welds!),
since the bearing on the inside with the "spacer" must be able to look out. What then looks like this in the end:
Then tighten the screws again with green screw lock to 20 Nm (Liteville even told me 25) - and test drive today.
Voilà, maybe it will help someone.
