The idea behind this story is somehing I personally experienced many years ago while I was working on and welding a few steel tubings stored in my freezing garden (it was winter) - while welding, the hot temperatures involved caused a sort of condensation all around the welding area - seemed like the metal was sweating. The frame of my bike is steel-made so... boom!
