Regardless of whether it's a new frame or just the rear triangle, the motor has to be removed anyway due to the internally routed parts. Re-pressing the bottom bracket and headset every time doesn't make things any easier...
The question that comes to mind is how can I improve the bike myself? So, I've decided on the bike and I feel comfortable on it. I need to talk to someone who knows about carbon fiber processing. Maybe they can add a few more layers...
The motor only needs to be swung down (remove all but the rear bolts)... then you still have to deal with routing the dropper, removing and repressing cups, setting up headset, swapping over the battery attachment hardware. So yes, its a lot more work involved.
My question, why should you need to improve the bike...if SCOR/BMC cared enough, they would fix the issue and their reputation (in my mind). Anything less and you lose customers. Why should I deal with all this, when there's plenty of brands with better reputations and customer support.
In Europe its a bit better, I suspect, but in the US.... I would probably never own another BMC/SCOR bike, no matter how well it rides. There's an owner with a 6080z waiting over 45 days for a chainstay or seatstay from SCOR who also bought the bike from the same dealer (JensonUSA). Long delays, no tracking information, minimal communication don't make for a good business. I guess they shipped the part via ship... to save a few dollars.
I've bought items from Ridewill, Bike24, BikeInn, etc... like tires (
Maxxis and
Continental) as there generally less expensive even with shipping to the US. DHL air, reasonable cost, I have items at my door within a week. Their shipping a multi-thousand dollar item, they could spring to get it to you in a reasonable amount of time. OR stock inventory in the US (North America) OR don't bother operating and selling product.
