Welche Optik/welcher reflektor wäre denn geeignet für eine MC-E? Gibts da schon Tests oder Beamshots? Eine kleine MC-E Lampe vierfach seriell geschaltet wäre eine schöne Ergänzung zur IRC.
They may fit mechanically, but whats more important is the size of the die and its position. The MC-E very likely has a larger light emitting area that XR-E. That will generate a very different beam with a XR-E optic/reflector. The question is: will it be usable. I hope someone already tried a few XR-E reflectors with MC-E.Hi, I think that the "normal" reflectors/optics for cree XR-E leds are compatibles with MC-E leds, the external diameter of the MCE coincide with the XR-E.

I just ordered a MC-E emitter (http://www.led-tech.de/de/High-Power-LEDs-Cree/CREE-MC-E-Serie/CREE-MC-E-Emitter-LT-1405_120_133.html). I will measure the luminous flux of it in the integrating sphere. Then we will have certainty about this LED...

Perhaps it is possible to solder the Chip on a copper plate. I did this with my Seoul P7 and the heat transfer is very good! If this is not possible i will fix it with thermoconducting glue.
I only bougt it to test the LED. I won't build a lamp with it.
