Hi,
I bought a pair of Ritchey cantis in 1998, which I assume to be the same as the black ones showed in the photo below.
Some phone calls etc. were necessary to get them and I felt like I got one of the last pairs, because it was said that they wouldn't be produced any more at that time.
At the beginning they made very akward noise ("Iiiiiiiih), though they were adjusted perfectly well. (I use them with black coolstops and
Mavic SUP clincher rims with grey anodizising.) It was some little embarrassing to brake with them in front of other people, so I tried to get away without too much braking.

A very bad detail is that screws to adjust the cantilever-arms are completely missing so you have to adjust them with the cable hanger. In case of changing wheels which are not completely equal in position of the rim, it takes time to adjust the brakes.
Today, as rims are worn, only sometimes they make noise. But there aren't very good indeed, I think, and when times are coming where I will ride harder (due to physical condition and riding skills)

I will change them perhaps in a pair of the new
Shimano Cantis which seem to work very well (esp. with
Mavic rims) and look not to bad.
In my opinion, the only real good thing with the Ritcheys is their design, i.e. they look very good.
HTH, kirilow.
