Entschuldigung, mein Deutsch is sehr schlecht, daher im English

Hello, just found out the following:

My rear (right hand side) Formula Oro was losing its pressure point a bit, so I thought it was bleeding time...
(note that I just installed brand new Monkeylite CNT risers a couple of weeks ago)
So, I remove the master piston from the bar and found this (see pictures):wut:
Aaargh, the brake is leaking from it's membrane that is hidden in the lever housing.
There is an air hole in the lever attachment (see picture) which enables the membrane to expand when the brake fluid gets warm.

It is through this air hole the DOT fluid is "guided" to my carbon bar....
There was some fluid on the inside of the clamp and when I inserted a small piece of paper in the hole it came out wet...

So, a one off? No, my other brake lever has the same problem! :kotz:
If you look closely at the pictures you see the paint of the lever clamp has bubbles and is already flaking off because of the DOT fluid.

You could call this bad luck... I call it a shitty design. When you search the forum for other posts you can see that I have had (other) problems with the Oro's before. This was a replacement from Formula Italy.

So, maybe you should check if your Formula Oro's are eating your carbon bars too.

(I guess I won't get a new carbon bar from Formula)

Thanks for the important information! maybe you could tell us which series they are from and/or if there are the same designfailures at any other series. This goes out to all formula owners !
Thanx

I have an Oro K24 - since last Sunday (first ride) the pressure point isn't there. I was able to pull he lever straight to my handle bar. Back at home i saw the brake was leaking at the rear caliper where the tube goes into the caliper.
I gave the bike to the mech who made the assembly. He changed an o-ring at the rear caliper....but still there is no pressure point. The brake blocks after pumping a while, but thats not what i need at a bike

After removing the piston from the handle bar i noticed some DOT on the bar and the inner parts of the piston. So i think it's the same problem like rapsacs.

But the other Oro K24 at the front works perfect...

i apoligize my awful english

Ahhhh,

Hoffentlich funzt bald alles wieder gescheit!:(
