I had never pulled apart a rock shox fork before, but with the help of the videos on youtube you can't really go wrong. It has already been noted in this thread by "bad mechanic" that it is possible - here are a few pictures to make it less scary.
This if for the 2009/10 Reba Team with blackbox motion control unit, but should be the same for the higher end revelations and others as well. Undo the 24mm bolt on the upper right leg and remove the damper unit. Use about a 2.5mm drill to remove the two upper pop rivets which hold the Titanium tube in place. Don't remove the middle or the bottom pop rivets!!! The top damper cap slides out to
reveal a funky spring spring which will save you around 2g on removal from the fork. Clean both parts to ensure there are no shavings from the drilling or debris. SLide the upper damper cap back in, ensuring that the shaft slides into the bottom valve "Y" supported by the bottom cap. Use very small pop rivets to re-fasten the Ti-tube to the upper cap. As the rivets can't be too high (so they don't touch the inside of the fork leg on re-insertion of the damper into the fork) I sanded down the rivet tops before I pop riveted the damper back together.
Change the oil or check that you have the correct the amount of oil in your upper right leg, insert the damper, torque to spec, mount the dial (carbon, Al or just the old pop-lock spool), mount the blow off and your are away! Good luck - it's easy
