Aussagen von UCI Präsident Pat McQuaid:
* die meisten Rahmen der Räder heutzutage im professionellen Peleton werden in China von nur einigen wenigen Werken hergestellt.
* Abertausende von Rahmen aus Carbon, Kevlar oder sonstigem Material werden für umgerechnet 30-40$ pro Stück hergestellt. Und dieses ultimative Rad wird auf dem Markt für 4000, 5000 oder gar 6000 Euro verkauft.

Did you know the three cyclists on the 2008 Tour de France podium all used bikes produced in the same factory? Yes, the design and decals might have varied but there was only one manufacturer behind all three riders.
