Liebes Canyon Team,

Du kommst also nicht schneller an Deine Teile.

Hello Markus,

Sorry I do not speak German, I am based in Spain. Just wanted to make you know that I bought a Canyon Neuron CF 8.0 back in November 2020 and I had exactly the same problem that you are describing.
I lost the MTG Kit HL GP0202-01 AM in December, and conctacted Canyon service to get the specific screws and nuts replacement. I managed to get it at the end of January. Today, in the middle of the route I realized it got loose again, only this time the nut remained in place with the broken screw in it.
I am going to contact Canyon also but the scenario where we can get the kit remplaced quickly seems highly unlikely.
Even with the spare parts, I am afraid that it is a problem that could frequently repeat...
It is a pity since the bike works fine... but this problem takes away confidence/enjoyment from the riding as now I am going to be continuingly concerned about my screws being all in its place.
I will let you know what is the answer from Canyon service side if it can help.

Best regards,

Marc F.

Yes, the mounting kit on the right side (the shorter one) it is broken at the end of the nut lenght.
As you can see part of the bolt remained inside the nut.

Have you already tried to remove the rest of the screw from the frame ? Due to the screw lock it could be difficult.

I could remove the remaining nut from the bike frame easily. Not so easy though to remove the screw from inside the nut due to screw lock as you say, but it does not matter as I need another screw to have the complete mounting kit.
Of course I can order a new mounting kit and wait, or machine a non standard mounting kit to the the job meanwhile. But my biggest concern is that maybe it will keep on breaking.
Perhaps a bigger screw diameter would do the job more robustly, if it would still fit inside the frame.

We are up to our 4th set since November. Broke Broke then in Decmeber go the new in January, indeed, got Replaced feb, has broken again in april.
same issue as others, at end of thread, it isnt over tightening as we used the proper tools
Its a design flaw in the way the screw is built and designed
Son is getting very frustrated
