Wildau - XC MTB club?

As I registered in this MTB Forum some time ago, I have some questions:
Are there XC MTB clubs in Wildau?
What kind off MTB tracks are availible is this region?
Are there weekly organised biketours 40 - 50 - 60km, in the region?

Someone of my family will be staying in Wildau from 01/2015 untill 05/2015.

Are there XC MTB clubs in Wildau?

Nein. Es gibt einen Radsportverein in KW (= Königs Wusterhausen). Und beim Verein SG Südstern Senzig gibt es eine Radsportsektion. Beides aber Rennrad.
Wildau liegt ja nur ein paar Kilometer von Berlin entfernt. Von daher sei hier noch der Mountain Bike Verein Berlin erwähnt.

MTB-Tracks... Hm, was verstehst Du darunter? In Wildau gibt es ne Dirt-Strecke, also ein paar Doubles auf engstem Raum. Ansonsten kann man hier ganz gut durch die Wälder touren.
In den auch nicht wirklich weit entfernten Müggelbergen gibt es eine Downhill-Strecke und rund um den Teufelsberg (kommt man ganz gut mit der S-Bahn hin, ist aber auf der anderen Seite von Berlin) haben sich hier und da auch Streckenbastler betätigt.

Es gibt keine regelmäßigen Querfeldeintouren/Touren im Gelände, organisiert von Vereinen. Eher Straßentrainingsrunden.
Aber wenn Dein Verwandter hier in Begleitung fahren will, kann er/sie sich auch einfach hier bei uns im Forum melden. Bzw. mitlesen und mitfahren:
Zwei Beispiele für relativ regelmäßige "Mitfahrgelegenheiten": Es gibt die Rauchfangswerderrunde. Die startet ungefähr 10 km von Wildau entfernt. Oder auch den ein oder anderen Nightride (N-8ride) mit wechselnden Treffpunkten.

First off all, thank you for your quick reply.
Indeed, it is my daughter who is going tu study in Wildau. A student exchange program called Erasmus.
We are from Belgium, Ingelmunster, a small town near Brugge. Close to the Belgian cost.

She is rather sportive. Running, cycling and mountainbike. In our region and northern France there are weekly organised ( by mtb or rennrad clubs) ride-outs for rennrad or mountainbike (everytime 500 to 1.500 bikers).

Why am i putting this post. She wants to discover the German day and nightlife around Berlin. Her mother and me prefer that she discovers the German sportslife. We will sleep better.

Haha ^.^ ... if she's got that intention, and is old enough for nightlife you probably won't be able to hinder her from venturing into it.

But be brave - if you did a good job parenting her up until now (what I'd expect - judging from the amount if care you're showing here) it is unlikely that it will do her any harm.
Berlin ain't the Bronx or Moscow! Despite from a small amount of isolated incidents, tens to hundreds of thousands of people go out to party every night in Berlin without any bad experiences for years. I know because "been there, done that", and because of many aquaintances who did the same and became really moderate and successfull human beeings after acting out that phase.

As for Wildau - I work there, and ride my bike there to daily from Berlin. Quiete nice forresty landscape, including some nice little hills for training. She probably won't need a club to enjoy that area on a bike.

Well, roadbikes are popular in the Brandenburg region. Especially on the weekends. But that seems to have lead the motorists to have a pretty subsential grudge against cyclists in general. No matter how correct, quick, and careful I ride, and no matter how friendly I am towards them - they allways take over in the worst possible situation with as little space as possible, and loudly howling motors .

That brought me to avoiding the streets as much as possible, and ride in the woods instead. There I've yet to meet fellow bikers, but at least there were MTB-tiremarks that weren't mine. So I guess that there are other MTB-riders roaming those forrests.

Im Übrigen gibt es keine "Wildau region". Wildau ist seit, ich glaube, diesem Jahr eine Stadt geworden (= die magische Zahl von 10.000 Einwohnern erreicht). Daneben liegt KW mit grob gesagt 17.500 Einwohnern. Beide Städte liegen im "Dahmeland". Und das liegt in dem Bundesland Brandenburg. Berlin (3,5 Mio Einwohner) ist einen Katzensprung entfernt.
Ich kenne Radfahrer sowohl in Brandenburg als auch in Berlin. Die fahren mal Rennrad, mal Mounti, mal beides.

Soll heißen: das kann man alles nicht direkt trennen. Also worauf möchtest Du mit der Frage hinaus?

BTW: Vielleicht gibts ja auch unter den Studenten ne Gruppe, die sich regelmäßig zum Biken trifft?!

Ich glaube, das hat nicht viel miteinander zu tun. Stadtrechte werden vom Land verliehen (es gibt genug Orte, die mehr als 10k Einwohner haben und die trotzdem keine Stadt sind und umgekehrt).

Zum Thema: Als Belgier wird man sich damit abfinden müssen, dass Radsport hier nicht sonderlich populär ist. Am besten wird es sein, man guckt in den einschlägigen Foren nach Gruppen und schließt sich dort an. Im Rennradforum geht es etwas organisierter zu, als hier, aber spannend ist Rennradfahren in B/BRB nicht unbedingt. Wenn es auch etwas anderes sein darf: ich empfehle Rudern .

@Renn.Schnecke: ja, stimmt schon. Gibt viele Leute die sich einfach als Radfahrer sehen, und da keinen Unterschied machen, aber auch mindestens genausoviele die strickt einer der beiden Kategorien treu sind.

Um der Entscheidung zu entkommen könnte man ja einfach beides vermischen, und Cyclocross fahren . Ist ja auch nicht gerade unbekannt in Belgien .

Somebody asked, "What is the meaning of this topic".
Well, I thought that some bikers or cyclist in (the region of) Wildau would reply in this topic, and explain what/when they ride out together.
This is what happens in Belgium when one starts a topic on the bike forum. Cycling and mtb are very very popular by us.
When you go for I ride (bike or rennrad) on a weekday or in the weekend for 1-2 hours, you will at least see 20 bikers/cyclists that cross your path.
