Klarlack als Decal-Schutz am Stumpjumper

Hallo,
ich fahre im Alltag ein Stumpy aus ca. 94, bei dem die Decals auf Grund des Alters fast komplett abgeplättert sind. Nun habe mir einen anderen, fast gleichen Rahmen in sehr gutem Zustand besorgt.

Spricht etwas dagegen, den Rahmen beim Lackierer mit Klarlack überziehen zu lassen, damit die Decals geschützt bleiben? Wäre vor der Reinigung etwas zu beachten?

Das solltest du mit deinem Lackierer absprechen, der weiß am besten, ob das mit seinem Lack überhaupt funktioniert. Nicht, dass sich die Decals mit dem neuen Klarlack gar nicht vertragen.
Reinigen mit Schwamm und klarem Wasser, danach mit Haushaltstüchern und Isopropanol abwischen.

Ich meine, die Decals zum Über-Lackieren sind deutlich dünner.

It depends. If we speak about the newer frame (you bought recently), I assume that your frame and decals are in good or excellent condition, and they're not peeling off, so you can spray over the clear coat. However, based on my personal experience, it is not always the best (old paint and new clear coat did not work well together, i.e. clear coat cracked like old skin).
If we speak about your older frame, the one - almost - without the decals, here I would prefer to peel off all old decals, and prepare the frame for new coating (or properly clean the frame without the decals, remove old grease, etc. and then spray a new clear coat, or even a new colour. As said before, you may consult the process with the painter).
