i cant really decide between 1x11 oder 2x10
1x11 looks just clea, it is lighter...
I was in the same dilema... If it can help you, here is a chart. So far, from the chart below you can see that with 1x11 you cover almost the same number of gear ratios as with 2x10 - there's less overlaping. (In 2x10 there are basically 6 gears that roughly overlap - so you end up with roughly 14 gears vs 11 in 1x11 system - this only means that gears are slightly more apart).
The main difference for recreational rider is in lower and upper end:
With 1x11
34t, the easiest gear you can obtain is roughly 1x3 in 2x10 system - not very good for highly technical uphill climbs.
However, with 1x11 34t, you obtain roughly half of gear in the hard end (something like 2x10.5)
With 1x11
30t, the easiest gear you can get is roughly 1x2 on 2x10 system - very appropriate as anyone that I know hardly uses 1x1 gear position on 2x10 or 3x9.
On the hard end of gears, you loose roughly half a gear (and you get something like 2x9.5). I think this is still managable for downhill.
This is what concerns gear ratios. However maintainance costs and stuff like that is a completely different story

I just ordered a missing link for KMC chain that Strive uses - I costs "verdamt" 5€ - quite expensive. Not to mention the casette (200€+) or chainrings ("verdamt" 60€!)
The system definetly is expensive and also prone to more wear as you only have 1 chainring to use all the time. So far I still count that chain and chainring should last at least 2 seasons (I do 50 - 70 vertical kilometers per year - uphill, no shuttles). Up till then the parts should become less expensive.
But there is a significant advantage with 1x11 in terms of weight and complexity and nevertheless - at maintanance costs with 2x10 you should also take into account:
shifter, cables, bowdens, chain tensioner, TWO chainrings, front mech.
These are all things that may brake when you fall, wear out after a while or need tuning from time to time.
Not that I promote 1x11 system, actually I never even tried it, but from months of fighting with myself I think it's the way to go. I'd actually order Regular Strive AL if 1x11 system would be available with it.
