Sorry, it isn't.

If you want do go mountainbiking, this bike is far too cheap and heavy (the weight of 13,5 kg is fake) for the job. You should invest around 800 € to get a decent mountainbike.

If you want do use the bike in an urban environment, you don't need a suspension fork, 21 gears and all that heavy shit. A simple, light singlespeed bike with narrow tires would do that job much better.

Thank you for the response. No, I am not going to go mountain biking!
I just need it for daily use and sometimes to go biking with my friends. At most, it is going to be used for biking in easy countryside areas.

Do you have any specific suggestion?

Around 250 Euros. I don't really know whether I need them or not. But, to be honest without any logic, I prefer my bike to have gears. Yes, you can call me stupid :D

That hawk is rubbish.
At 250 bucks you may find a used bike that will do. If your new city ist flat enough you can go for Florent's suggestion. Else you won't find any proper new bike at 250 Euros. Nobody here will suggest a new mountainbike at that price.

Hi, I started my "mountain bike career" in Hamburg with no idea about good bikes, bought a Hawk Hammer for 600,-€, gear was ok, V-brake worked reasonable, fork had a steel spring, much to hard for my 75 kgs (so it was nearly a bike with rigid fork) and a bike weight around 15 kgs. I was riding it for 5 years in even more advanced "mountain environment" than yours and had my fun. For me it looks like you could have fun as well, if you are not a lightweight (= bike too heavy) or a heavyweight (risky brakes to go long downhills).
Perhaps an upgrade of the derailleur at the back wheel and the trigger to a better Shimano version may be usefull after a while. But first I would try to get around with the Tourney, try to keep it in good shape and change, when it does not work properly anymore. The change is not a big thing.

Thank you very much, guys. I am happy that I did not rush into just because of the offer. Maybe, I should increase my budget or buy a used bike.

Do you suggest any place in Mannheim or Heidelberg for buying a new/used bike? I am sorry if the questions are too amateur. As I said, I am quite new to Germany.

Don't know when you started your mountain bike career, but I guess it was no later than 2013. So you are comparing a bike that cost twice till almost three times as much as the one in the first posting five years ago!

1. The new Hawk 22 was a special offer, no idea, what the "normal price is.
2. The Hawk Blackline is a low budget bike series - at least "built" by a Berlin Bike "assembler", where I assume that it is better than most of the low budget bikes from Mifa or similar because of their experience. So at least the frame should be ok and brakes and gears will work reasonably if properly serviced. As long as the user is not having 1oo kgs body weight and using the bike reasonably with no real hardcore biking (jumping, high speed downhill on rough trails).
3. I suggest the bike in the same class as the Decathlon Rockriders/BT-Win low cost bikes. They work for non-advanced mountainbiking, you can find them here everywhere.
3. I guess, even if Stadler or BOC or similar big bike sellers have a lot of bikes and always some special offers, it will be difficult to get something better at the price of the Hawk. But of course the guy should try.
