Nach 18 Jahren feinster CNC-Produkte und stabilen Parts aus British-Columbia macht einer der bekanntesten Komponenten-Hersteller die Türen zu. Über die Umstände der Schließung ist bisher noch nicht allzuviel bekannt:
„I wish the situation was optimistic, but we’ve been told the company is going to be liquidated, and 90% of us are unemployed as of next week. They’ll keep a few people on to assist with the liquidation.
My tenure with the company has been short, but it’s been a fun ride. Thanks to all the great athletes, customers, and media folks I’ve had the opportunity to work with. Thanks also to the amazing group of coworkers I have out here. All of you make stuff like this hurt a lot less“,

Ich persönlich finde das äußerst schade – ich fand die Produkte immer klasse und fahre immer noch diverse RF-Produkte an meinen Rädern – da muss ich wohl jetzt noch ein bisschen mehr drauf aufpassen…

Update 17. März – Kommentar von Craig Pollack, Race Face früherem CEO
“It is a sad outcome for the brand, but more importantly for the people involved with the company, I personally thank all of our staff, riders, suppliers, customers and consumers for their support over the years. Our talented staff truly were the backbone of this brand. I have been humbled by their loyalty and determination throughout this process and wish them well moving forward.”
„Race Face, started in 1992, is an iconic brand and has been instrumental in creating the fiber of the mountain bike industry. We are proud of our accomplishments over the last 19 years. Highlights include: helping to create the free ride mountain biking movement with our line of Diabolus components, being one of the first component suppliers to design parts for the all mountain market, and currently producing the Next line of carbon fiber cranks—the lightest production cranksets ever produced. The company will undoubtedly be sold to a new buyer, and the brand, as we know it today, will forever be changed, but we are proud of the Race Face legacy and the impact it made on the mountain biking industry and community.”
