Mountain Cycle is proud to announce the arrival of a new hard-core freeride model, the SIN. The SIN will be unveiled at Eurobike and InterBike and is only a taste of what we’ve developed for the new season. The SIN frameset has been designed and developed within the parameters of Mountain Cycle’s legendary high standards, and attention to detail is evident throughout. Similar to its big brother, the ShockWave 9point5, the SIN is a full monocoque, single pivot, cantilever beam design that provides the ultimate in strength and stiffness to weight ratio. The SIN incorporates the same basic design as the ShockWave 9point5, but is manufactured with lighter weight aluminum sheet and with a steeper head angle for greater steering response. The SIN is front derailleur compatible and can be set up with a triple ring, double with bash, or single ring with chain guide depending on rider preference. The forged BB shell and main-pivot assembly incorporates integrated ISCG mounting points and is CNC machined to reduce all excess weight in a rigid, trussed structure. The 7 inches of travel is kept very smooth and consistent by utilizing low-maintenance high-performance sealed cartridge bearings on widely spaced mounting points. This configuration provides incredible lateral stiffness in the swingarm. The SIN will come equipped with a Fox Vanilla RC shock, ban can also be upgraded to the much sought after Progressive 5th Element to dial in the bike for any rider on any terrain. Like all Mountain Cycle models, the SIN was developed with state-of-the-art solid modeling software to create both the solid ride and outstanding appearance that all Mountain Cycle frames are famous for. The full monocoque frame will be available in 3 sizes and includes the famous adjustable steerer stop to protect frame from double crown fork impacts in the event of a crash. Finishes include red and white powder coated main frames with silver anodized swing arms or complete anodized black frame options. The SIN is one of six new models that are to be released at the 2004 tradeshows. Expect to see many more Mountain Cycles than ever before on the race courses and trails near you.
